We feel confident that by joining our academy you will realize this to be the best decision you have made for either yourself as an adult student, or for your child.

Our focus is on Character Development as we mentor Black Belts of Excellence for life by incorporating traditional martial arts along with contemporary, dynamic teachings.

We invite you to join our family and begin your personal journey to becoming a future "Black Belt of Excellence" at Arrowhead Martial Arts Academy.

About our Art

Tae Kwon Do literally means, (tae) to smash with the feet, (kwon) to punch with the fist, (do) the art or method; in essence, the art of kicking and punching.

Historically, 1955 signaled the beginning of Tae Kwon Do as a formally recognized art in Korea. During that year a special board was formed which included leading masters, historians and prominent leaders of society. A number of names for the new martial art were submitted. On the 11th day of April, the board, summoned by General Choi Hong Hi, decided on the name of Tae Kwon Do—which he himself had submitted.

Tae Kwon Do replaced the different and confusing terms such as Dang Soo, Gong Soo, Tae Kyon and Kwon Bup.

At our Academy, the teachings of the legendary Grandmaster Hee Il Cho are taught. These techniques are not limited to just dynamic kicking, but also incorporate western-style boxing and kick boxing techniques. Grappling was added to complete the curriculum which concentrates on the four zones of self-defense.

Arrowhead Martial Arts Academy has incorporated weapons and a demo team—"Team Thunder"—to round out our curriculum
